You know there is trouble...

When you seen this....

And hear silence on the other side.

How can one little girl completely empty a bookshelf in less than a minute? I don't know why I even bothered to put the darn books back on the shelf. The next time I turn my back she's just gonna do it again. I'm not kidding when I say that this is the fifth time in 2 days that I've had to put the books back! I have to admit that it's starting to get on my nerves but she doesn't seem to notice that while she's sitting in the middle of the pile of books!

Jonathan does the same thing and I also keep putting the books back on the shelf because they drive me nuts lying all over the floor. I totally do not understand why pulling them off the shelf is so satisfying to begin with...

This is exactly why I have my books in a plastic container and not on a shelf. My books are all mangled because not only do Cameron and Ava put the books all over the floor, Ava also chews on them, as you know. I even get a little nervous bringing Cameron at the bookstore.

That is part of Lily's morning routine...when my sister puts her down and turns to pick up all the toys Lily has thrown out of the crib in the night, Lily goes directly to the bookshelf and unloads it. She then carefully selects one book, which my sister then has to read to her over and over...and over again for the rest of the morning. Sorry, babe, but the books-on-the-floor thing is just part of being a mommy. Enjoy!

That is so cute, but I can see why it would get annoying. I love seeing little ones with their books, it is just to adorable.
On a side note, my basement is the same shade of brown paint!

My daughter does the same thing. I just leave them until the end of the day now. I have been trying to teach her to put them back on the shelf, but she does it with one and that is it. Oh well!

I feel your frustration!

I also go through this nearly daily. This is why they aren't allowed to play in their bedroom, where the bookshelf is. Well, that and their access to the baby lotions and soaps (see previous blog). It is so frustrating!!! yet I put them all back every time.

Obviously this is an epidemic! The boys do it too...but they also empty out their entire toy box so they can hide inside of it. Talk about a mess, try about 50 action figures everywhere...

Hailey loves to do this too, and I have gone the books in the tub route as well. Janice and I both have book destroying children, so they just look silly on the shelf.
