Twin Pops

Here's Sophie and her BFF sharing a Popsicle after a dip in Gracie's pool. Notice the shoes on Gracie's tootsies. Those are Sophie's swim shoes but Gracie insisted that she put them on. Cracks me up. What ever one is doing the other has to do too. Of course right after they finished their Popsicles they got in a fight over the empty wrappers. Kids are odd little creatures what can I say.

And this just in on the Little Bit front. Steven called me at work this morning (he's in charge of getting her to day care) to tell me her latest trick. He walked into her room this morning and she was straddling the rail of the crib and riding it like a horse!!! And the crib is down as far as it can go! He caught her red handed so she didn't actually get to the floor but still! She's so freaking short I can't believe she can even do it! I always put her to bed when she's still awake and sometimes she cries b/c she "thinks" that it shouldn't be bed time. I'm scared to death that she'll now try to climb out! Des anyone have any experience with this or has anyone used those crib tents?

Love the picture! They are two peas in a pod! Gracie hasn't tried the climbing out thing yet but I am waiting for it! Good luck!!!!

rex started climbing out of his crib when he was 18 months old. he would cry when i would put him to bed, and once he figured out how to get out of the crib, there was no keeping him in there. he did it five times in one night (with a huge "thud" as he hit the floor each time). the next day i changed his crib into a daybed and put a (very tall) baby gate across the doorway to his room so he couldn't wander the house at night. good luck!

First of all, have you seen the new slow melt popsicles? They aren't no melt, but they definitely melt more slowly than the regular ones. Anyway, as for Sophie's new trick, Chris (from work) had to use the crib tent for one of his sons, and he swears by it. Might be worth a try. For some reason, Lily has never shown any interest in climbing out of her crib. She just sits in there and plays with her toys. It's the one GOOD thing she does!

OMG, that's hilarious! The kids have not tried jumping out of the crib yet but if Sophie wants to then maybe the crib tent is worth a try.

The picture is very cute! Those two are going to be best buds for life! They act like they're sisters already fighting over who gets to wear the shoes!

Jonathan is also really short so this has not been an issue for us. BUT I just read an article that said developmentally it's best for kids to stay in cribs until as close to 3 as possible (assuming you can do so safely, of course). That same article suggested one of those crib tents, so maybe that would be worth a try??

On the slow melt popsicle front--we bought some and not only are they slow melt (they have gelatin in them) but they are DELICIOUS!!

Go to a toddler bed ASAP. Trust me, if she is ANYTHING like you and I used to be she will be sneaking into everything and doing just what she is told not to do!!! Andrew was notorious for getting out of his bed and we got him the cute little race car toddler bed when he was just over a year old. Evan was out of his crib and sleeping with Andrew in a twin bed by the time he was one. Like the other poster said, just get a gate at the door so she doesn't wander. When the boys did get up in the middle of the night they were allowed to play quietly in their room. Many mornings I would wake to find them both asleep on the floor. It will take some adjustment time, so be prepared for a few sleepless nights in the beginning but it's worth it to keep her from falling out of her crib in the middle of the night!
