Up Close and Personal
Ya don't say? This sign at Barefoot Landing totally cracks me up. I'm shocked! Alligators may bite? Do you think some moron actually got his arm taken off before they had to put this sign up? Now that I got that off my chest, on to our vacation. Last week Andrea mentioned how a crazy woman at the Cinci zoo ticked off a lion by taking pictures of him. Well I COULD NOT pass up this opportunity. Granted this is a tiger but like Little Bit knows the difference. To her both lions and tigers go "ARRRRRR." So when we came across this fella we had to stop for a look see. At least this man eater was enclosed behind glass. Sophie could not take her eyes off him and he paced back and forth and would get right up in her face! She was mesmerized!
After leaving Mr. Tiger we came across the carousel. Aren't carousels usually slow paced? This sucker went warp speed and blew her hair straight up in the air. And the best part, she got to ride a lion!
And finally we came across a Pirate which made me SUPER happy. Why I didn't get my picture taken with him instead of these two clowns I'll never know. They obviously don't appreciate pirates. Check out the looks on their faces. Steven is saying "get this stinky hat off my head." And Sophie is saying "just get me out of here!

Kim, the last picture totally cracked me up! I don't know if I'm that brave putting on that hat!
BTW, I think carousels run on some kind of high powered engine or something nowadays because when I went with the kids a couple of weeks ago I thought I going to hurl while on it.
hahaha... Sophie looks scared of the pirate, but Stephen looks like he's enjoying the company. Aaargh!
Ethan usually hates carousels, but we made him ride a real horse that went in circles at a fair for 4th of July and he loved that! go figure.
Keep the vaca photos coming!
You know somebody stuck an arm in there! I love the last picture and wow that carousel does look like it was moving!
Yup, I agree that some carousels are warp speed.
And I cannot believe that YOU of all people didn't get your picture taken with the pirate! You are the biggest fan of pirates (or pirate ghosts) that I know!!!! Oh the memories of a late fall night at Fright Farm...lol. I'll stop there.
That last picture is so funny! Sophie does look like she doesn't want to be in that picture and is wondering where her dad went! Ha
I am so glad you had a good time. Believe me, I know all about needing a vacation from your vacation. My best advice is to take a bunch of long weekends and day trips instead of one long trip. That is how we survive with all four boys! I love the pics...
Kel
I often see signs like the one in your first pic and think "seriously? They needed a sign for that?"
Regardless, love the pictures!! Jonathan does the same thing with the tiger at the Louisville Zoo, at least until it roared at some kids the last time we were there...
