Eatin' & Drinkin'

Who could ask for anything more? You guys have no idea how much Sophia is like me in the eating department (ok some of you might). Unlike my hubby who eats to live, I LIVE to eat. And I have the thighs to prove it! Going out to eat is like my all time favorite past time especially if it's a new restaurant. Sophia appears to be taking after me. The girl is like a vulture! She sees food (or a drink) and she comes running signing and saying "moe moe" (her version of more). But I have to admit that we have had a little problem lately. Recently she's started to throw food on the floor when she's finished eating. And I'm talking launching carrots like she's pitching for the Yankees. Or she'll get mad and dump her entire plate or smack everything off of her highchair tray! Anyone have any advice. A few people have told me to sternly say "NO" and after the next time, remove her from her highchair and dinner is over.

Sorry, Gracie has probably taught that to Sophie! Ha!!!! No, I really think they are learning some bad habits at daycare! I have tried the no and the removing from the chair...no luck so far! So, let me know if you learn any tricks also!!!!

It's not daycare or other kids. My kids did the same thing. I told them to tell me when they were done, but that didn't really work. I would just start taking the food away when they did it.

Rest assured, I think every kid does this at her age, it will continue til probably about 20 months or so. I cleaned up an awful lot of restaurant floors and left hefty tips in the meantime. And get a dustbuster. My kids have outgrown (for the most part) it so there is hope on the horizon. BUt it's sure frustrating while it lasts.

I agree, they all do it. My best advice is to invest in a good mop! And watch for signs that she is getting finished. Grab the plate as soon as she starts to lose interest. Believe me I have left, and am still leaving, my share of hefty tips too!!

That picture reminds me sooo much of you!! It is just so amazing to watch her grow up so fast, and right before our eyes!

I'm with the other posters--Jonathan did the same thing but has now grown out of it, too. It is definitely frustrating but she will be over it fairly soon.

Kim, Aubree does the same thing and has been doing it a while now. I hope this phase does end or my carpet will need to be replaced soon. It does get so frustrating sometimes. Let me know if you figure something out.

Sadly, I have no solution. Ava has done this several times and I've always just asked her if she was all done and then removed her from the high chair. :-(

Hailey did it too. I was laways afraid that she wasn't eating enough, so I probably let her stay in her chair too long. She grew out of it also, so there is hope :)
