VBS

True Story: When I was around 7 I went to Vacation Bible School at a church in our small town. It's no secret that sometimes a bunch of kids at church can be the meanest rottenest kids on the planet. During that week of learning songs, eating snacks,  making crafts, and praising Jesus, our class made the teacher cry because we refused to listen. AND while playing hide and seek in the church yard, we broke a gazing ball, one of these:

and then lied like it was our job and didn't feel guilty about it for a second. Nice.

So thankfully, this past week, when Little Bit went to the "Avalanche Ranch VBS" at Emma and Ethan's church they were all well behaved little angles and loved every minute of it. But as I glanced at the pew behind me, where the elementary kids were sitting (ages 7-10) I could see and hear the terror being unleashed behind me. So I feel a little better that it wasn't just me and my sociopath friends in 1985 wrecking havoc in the church, it's the age. :)

So it was a Western Theme. Yee-Haw!

With lots of yummy snacks!

Making new friends.

And games.

And songs. Dear lord, I had forgotten about the songs. The catchy little numbers that you only learn at vacation bible school. At the end, we got a CD of the music to take home with us, which we have now listened to 93,434 times. In the car, at dinner, out in the driveway. Which is hilarious because we are not ones to be out side praising Jesus from the mountain tops. Yet, here we are every day singing about god while at the same time telling our three year old that "damn it" isn't the best thing to say when you are ticked off.  I like to think we live a well rounded balanced life.
