VBS

So it's summer time and that means that churches everywhere will be having Vacation Bible School. I loooooved me some VBS when I was little. And I think that Sophie would be all over it, ESPECIALLY the singing. Actually, only the singing would probably interest her. You should hear her sing "This Little Light of Mine." She can "hide it under a bushel, NOOOOOOOOO" better than anyone!

So I emailed a lady this evening about signing Sophie up. And this is the email I got back, totally cracked me up:

Hi Kimberly,
I'm sorry, we start at age 3.  We did 2 year olds a few years ago, and it ran off half my helpers. lol.  Last year, I had many specifically state that they would help, so long as they didn't have to help with preschoolers. So I had to move it up to age 3.

I can't say that I blame them, but I just found this to be hilarious! Two year olds banned from the Lord's House. Go figure. Of course a group of two year olds would probably have driven Jesus himself crazy after an hour. These two would have him running on water. In the other direction.

I can't believe that 2 yr olds have been banned. Good lord, what is this world coming to? So much for the song, Jesus and the little children. Gotta love the pic, that look on Sophie's face is priceless.

Lady you are too funny!!! At my church you have to be four, so even the poor three-year-olds get left out! :-)

I'm sorry, but I just don't see much difference in a 2 yr. old and a 3 yr. old. That's CRAZY. But, I guess they have to draw the line somewhere!!
Poor Sophie!

I can't believe it--I know 2 year olds are difficult, but my nehpew is almost 6 and acts a lot worse than Jonathan half of the time!

How cute is that look on Sophie's face?

I cannot believe that! Oh well that really is too bad. I agree with Jonathan's Mommy. I think it should be a case by case...I know some much older children that act much worse than my 16th month old!

Wow. Don't worry, my church doesn't ban 2 year olds. We had a couple of 1 year olds in last year's class. Besides, what 2 year old mom just drops off her kid without staying to help?

Our "Little Swimmers" class had my 2 kids (just over 2 last year) a 3 year old, another kid who was just over 2, and 2 1 year olds. Mass chaos combined with crafts and snacks. :)

That's hysterical!!

You bring that little girl over here and we'll have some 2-year-old Jesus-singin' up in here! :)

The cut off for VBS is age three where I used to work as well - I am a little embarrassed to say I would probably be one of the ones that would run away if I had to be in the toddler room for Vacation Bible School, lol!

This is hilarious. Our cut off was three also and when I was helping in that room, I always thought the cut off should be 4....I know, I'm bad.
