Femoral Anteversion
I know that most of my posts aren't titled with medical terms but on Friday after visiting with an orthopedist we learned that Sophia has something called Femoral Anteversion. And trust me, it sounds a lot worse than it actually is. Basically, her thigh bones are rotating inwards causing her knees and feet to turn in. In a nutshell, she's pigeon toed. For months now we've noticed that her feet turn in causing her to trip a lot more than other kids her age. Not only have we noticed her feet but her daycare teachers and other family members had noticed too. When I was a baby I had to wear a brace that screwed into my shoes for awhile so I was dreading the appointment. I just "knew" that Little Bit would be forced into being Forest Gump and have "magic shoes." Not that I cared what she looked liked but because she was going to fight us to the death over having to wear it. Luckily, we learned that Femoral Anterversion corrects itself. So no surgery and no crazy contraptions, yet. We go back in 6 months to make sure that it isn't getting worse. Not that braces would slow this chick down. Check her out riding the "cho-cho" at the mall. To put it in Little Bit's new favorite word, it was "AWESOME."

I love that little dress. I hope her little legs correct themselves!
You should never have told me that! From now on, I'm going to call you "Forrest, Forrest Gump"!
Did Sophie visit Santa at the mall? I notice she's all dressed up. Looks like a picture outfit to me! If so, you must post the pics.
That looks like fun! I can't believe she uses words like awesome. How funny!

Yay for no braces! Gotta love the ride ons at the mall, but weren't they only like a quarter when we were little??
Very cute- I hope her legs do correct themselves. Evan wore those braces and it hurt like h##l when he kicked you!!

Wow--that IS a mouthful! Hope her legs correct themselves!
Oh, and LOVE the dress--she always looks so cute!
How adorable is that?! I can't believe she says, "awesome"! So cute! And I also love the dress...I bet it looks great with the red coat!
Glad it only sounds worse than it really is! I hope it corrects itself too! And that dress!!! I just love it!!
Don't worry about her. My legs did that and became "normal" without braces -- or at least I think I walk pretty normal. I'll let you be the judge.
By the way she just keeps getting cuter -- love the hair and pouty lips.

Aww, I hope things correct on their own for her.
